But, in case you want more, (and of course you will), below are Singapore’s outstanding tourist attractions for your consideration.
1. Go up to Marina Bay Sands SkyPark Observation Deck
If you are in Merlion Park, you will see another distinctive landmark of Singapore. It is the three towers of Marina Bay Sands complex. The unique top of the towers is Marina Bay Sands SkyPark. In this ‘rooftop’, there are restaurants, infinity pool, and Kantilever. This is where you can enjoy the stunning scenery of Singapore from about 200 meters above the ground. To go up 57 floors to this Marina Bay Sands SkyPark Observation Deck, you don’t have to be hotel guests. Just buy the ticket and everyone can enter.
Besides the SkyPark, there are a lot to see in this area. You can actually explore the area without having to pay a penny. That’s why Marina Bay Sands complex is a favorite destination for backpackers. If you go there, don’t forget to take a photo of its unique-looking Helix Bridge! Also, there is Spectra, a fountain show presented twice every night (tree times on Fridays and Saturdays) in Event Plaza.
2. Hop on Sentosa Island
Have you got your Singapore tourist map pdf? If you look at the map, no matter which version you have, you’ll spot this tourist attraction easily. Do you know that Singapore has not only one island but 63? Sentosa Island is the second largest island in Singapore located in the south. You can go to this island, previously known as Pulau Blakang Mati, by bus, MRT and Sentosa Express, and also Cable Car. For the best experience, you can take the cable car from Mt. Faber. By doing so, you will be able to get bird-eyes view of Sentosa Island before really exploring it.
Sentosa Island is where you can find a lot of famous amusement parks. You must have known about Universal Studio Singapore. This first Universal Studio in Asia, and the only one in Southeast Asia, is in Sentosa Island. Besides, there are more to visit! S.E.A Aquarium, The Merlion Tower, Madame Tussauds Singapore, and KidZania Singapore are all located in Sentosa Island. If you are thinking about what to do in Singapore in 4 days, exploring those places are definitely worthwhile.
3. Have Fun with Luge & Skyride
Have you ever ride a luge before? If you haven’t, then you can try it in Sentosa Island. Luge & Skyride Sentosa is a perfect Singapore tourism destination to visit with family and friends. Ride the luge, a 3-wheel sled, and master the curvy track! Besides, you can get on the 4-seater Skyride and enjoy the jaw-dropping scenery of Sentosa Island from above. You can’t get enough; it’s very addicting! Luge & Skyride is open for public from 10 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. every day. To have this ultimate fun, go to 45 Siloso Beach Walk, Sentosa Island.
4. Spend the Night by Enjoying Wings of Time
Now, you know that there are plenty of things to do in Singapore during the day. So, what can you do at night? “Wings of Time” is one of the best attractions in Sentosa Island (and even Singapore’s mainland) to enjoy at night. It is a fountain show combining water spray with hi-tech visual effect including laser and firework. Very enchanting! You can even sneak a peek at this spectacular show if you hop on the Skyride at night.
What makes Wings of Time different from any other water fountain shows is its storyline. This show tells about the adventure of Shahbaz, a pre-historic mythical bird, and its best friends Felix and Rachel. The story teaches us about courage and friendship. Wonderful, isn’t it? This makes Wings of Time perfect for family trip.
5. Learn about Chinese Singapore Ethnic at Chinatown
The best place in Singapore to learn about Chinese ethnic and culture in Singapore is of course the Chinatown. This busy and merry area is an all-in-one tourist attraction. Whether you want to have religious, culinary, history, or shopping tour, you can do all in Chinatown Singapore. Chinatown is a subzone in Outram Disctrict that becomes the largest historic district in Singapore. This area consists of 4 sub-districts: Telok Anyer, Kreta Anyer, Bukit Pasoh and Tanjong Pagar.
If you are to visit Chinatown, there is an Instagramable spot just finished earlier this year. Make sure you take photos with the mural “Letter Writer” as your background! Just a little fun fact, years ago letter writers played an important role. They set shops along the street and helped Chinese migrants to write letters for their family in China. The mural perfectly depicts the situation back then. You can find this mural on the wall in 336 Smith Street, very close to the Chinatown Food Street.
Chinatown is where you can shop for cheap souvenirs. In Pagoda Street, there is even The Tintin Shop: a place to buy merchandises of Tintin. Still in Pagoda Street, there is one more place to learn the history of Chinatown Singapore. It is the dim-lighted Chinatown Heritage Center that displays housing, furniture and artifacts of the early settlers of Chinatown. Just across from Cinatown Complex, you can find one of the most visited places of worship in Singapore. It is Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum.
So, travelers, those are our list on 5 must visit Singapore tourist attractions. Hope you already get the idea of what things to do in Singapore for your next trip to the island. Enjoy your holiday! (yn)
